ECUTEK PHONEFLASH INITIAL SETUP

YOUR BASEMAP WILL NOT BE SENT UNTIL EVERY SINGLE STEP ON THIS PAGE HAS BEEN COMPLETE!!


12/1/25: DUE TO INCREASED VOLUME OF TUNES THROUGH HOLIDAY SALES, WAIT TIMES MAY CAN BE 4 TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS. PLEASE BE PATIENT AND BE SURE TO READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY. FAILURE TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS WILL GREATLY INCREASE YOUR TUNING TIMES BECAUSE EMAILS ARE ANSWERED IN THE ORDER OF WHICH THEY ARE RECEIVED. IF YOU MISS A STEP(LIKE STEP 4 BELOW) OR DON'T COMPLETE A STEP PROPERLY, YOUR TUNE OR LOG WILL BE PUT BACK IN LINE. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS.



1.

DOWNLOAD THE ECUTEK CONNECT APP.

2.

INSTALL THE ECUTEK BLUETOOTH CONNECT MODULE INTO THE OBD2 PORT UNDER YOUR STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT(OR RIGHT) ON THE Q50/Q60/Z.

3.

WITH YOUR KEY ON/ENGINE OFF, OPEN THE ECUTEK APP AND GO TO THE SETTINGS BY CLICKING THE GEAR ICON AT THE BOTTOM.

ONCE YOU ARE IN THE SETTINGS TAB, YOU WILL ADD THE BLUETOOTH CONNECT DEVICE BY SELECTING ADD/REMOVE. YOU WILL SELECT EVI-BTLE AND THEN ADD THE UNIT THAT POPS UP. ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS, GO BACK TO THE SETTINGS MENU

IN SETTINGS, YOU NEED TO SET UP YOUR ACCOUNT AND SELECT "SONICTUNED" AS YOUR TUNER. ONCE YOU DO THIS, THE APP COLORS WILL CHANGE AS WELL AS THE HOME SCREEN.

GO BACK TO THE MAIN MENU, SELECT MY CAR, THEN SCROLL DOWN AND SELECT PROGRAM ECU. FROM THERE,FILL OUT YOUR VEHICLE INFO AND THEN SELECT "SEND VEHICLE INFO TO TUNER". YOU CAN TURN YOUR IGNITION OFF NOW. ONCE THIS IS DONE, proceed to step 4 below!


4.

PLEASE EMAIL TUNING@SONICTUNED.COM FROM THE EMAIL ACCOUNT YOU USED IN STEP 3 WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

  1. WHAT IS YOUR ORDER NUMBER?

  2. -IF YOU HAVE A Q50/Q60, IS IT AWD OR RWD?

    -IF YOU HAVE A Z, IS IT 6-SPEED OR AUTOMATIC?

  3. IS YOUR BASE FUEL 91 OR 93 OCTANE?

  4. LIST, IN DETAIL, ALL OF THE ENGINE MODS THAT THE TUNE IS BEING MADE FOR!

  5. DRAG RADIALS/SLICKS ON A RWD CAR IS A MOD!!!!! Please make sure the parts list is correct. If you have a flex fuel kit, I need to know exactly which kit. AMS makes 3 different kits(V1, V2, and the new CAN FLEX) and all three require different tunes. Each tune is custom to your car based on your specific ECU and the questions asked above. Forgetting an engine mod or giving the wrong parts list will result in the wrong tune being made which can potentially damage the engine. You will be charged a $250 fee if this parts list is incorrect requiring a new BASEMAP prior to starting the tune. If the tune process is already started, you will need to purchase a new remote tune(minus license and connect kit), and the process will be started over. *****There are no exceptions!*****


  6. IF YOU PURCHASED THE RACE TUNE ADD-ON: YOU WILL NEED TO SIGN THE WAIVER AT THE LINK AT THE BOTTOM IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED THE RACE TUNE ADD-ON LOCATED HERE. PLEASE READ THE WAIVER CAREFULLY! IF YOU PLAN ON RACING YOUR CAR AND/OR TRYING TO SET RECORDS, YOU CAN NOW REQUEST TO SIGN THIS RACE WAIVER. THIS WILL BYPASS THE NORMAL SAFE TUNE FOR A VERY AGGRESSIVE RACE TUNE. THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DAILY DRIVERS OR LIGHTLY MODDED CARS. PLEASE READ THE WAIVER! THIS MAP WILL GET DIALED IN AT THE TRACK OR HOW YOU PLAN TO RACE YOUR CAR AND WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE NORMAL TUNING PROCESS. ONCE SIGNED, YOU NEED TO INCLUDE THE REASONS FOR REQUESTING THIS RACE WAIVER. IF YOU DO NOT ADD THIS INTO THE EMAIL, YOUR RACE WAIVER REQUEST WILL GO IGNORED AND CANNOT BE ADDED AFTER THE BASEMAP HAS BEEN MADE AND SENT.   7. FLAMES WAIVER REQUEST: OFF ROAD USE ONLY! IF YOUR CAR IS CATLESS AND YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A FLAMES MAP, IT CAN BE REQUESTED HERE. Please note, due to the extreme abuse flames puts on your car, if you choose to sign this waiver for flames, there will be no post tune support for any issues caused by having the flames. I do not recommend flames but will do so with this waiver. The waiver needs to be signed prior to the BASEMAP being made and once your tune is complete, please request I add the flames map in. https://forms.wix.com/f/7160435061739750241

    IF YOU ALREADY SIGNED THE RACE WAIVER, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SIGN THIS ONE AS WELL, JUST REQUEST IT BUT THE SAME NOTE STILL APPLIES!

  8. SAME DAY TUNING: Remote tuning takes about a week to complete. For those of you who need or would like it done sooner/same day, you can purchase and schedule same day tuning. Please schedule 3 days in advance. PLEASE NOTE: This is a service is the same as in person live tuning. You are required to be on time and ready and the car is expected to be in proper working condition. If you purchase this service and the tune cannot be completed within the scheduled time due to an issue that arises with the car or you are not ready, you will need to either re-purchase more time or just go back to the normal tuning schedule. ONCE ALL STEPS ARE COMPLETED, YOUR CUSTOM BASEMAP WILL BE BUILT BASED ON THE INFORMATION YOU PROVIDED WITHIN 2-4 BUSINESS DAYS. PLEASE BE PATIENT!!! If after 4 business days you have not received anything and there are no emails in your spam, please reach out for an update to make sure nothing was missed. If you missed a step, the 2-4 business days will restart once everything is complete.
